There are over a hundred free videos about the process of planning and building your ADU on the How To ADU YouTube channel.
There's a free facebook group with over 20,000 members who all chat about ADUs and share project updates and things like that.
Learn about grants, loans, and ADU rules EARLY
We keep homeowners up to date with important news stories.
For example, a lot of people only heard about the state’s $40,000 ADU grant in October 2022.
We were publishing news about this back when it was a $25k grant in December 2021
Updated May 2022 when they first introduced lenders that didn’t require refinancing

So if you want to hear about these things early and you want to get accurate information, then How To ADU is a great source of information.
Another great thing to know is that we do a lot of housing advocacy, so we’re generally able to publish updates on new laws before they go into effect. And we can talk about how we think these laws will be enforced, but also prepare you for some of the complications that might arise. Here are examples of our coverage of SB 9 in September 2021 (before the law went into effect in January 2022) and the new 2-story ADU rules that went into effect in January 2023, first published in September 2022.
