Your First ADU Milestone

Commit to your goal

The first step is very easy to complete because it has zero costs, and it’s all about your mindset.

Write down what you want to accomplish by building an ADU.

The other two milestones, and the intermediary steps are much more grounded, practical, and sometimes very very technical.

But the first step is a simple choice you make right now…

This milestone is important for two reasons:

  1. This helps make smart decisions later on.
ADUs are very flexible and they come in many shapes and sizes. So you’ll have to make hundreds of decisions over the coming months. Being clear with yourself about what you’re trying to accomplish will help you make the right choices

  2. This motivates you.
Construction projects of this scale have highs and lows. On good days, you’ll feel great. When you face challenges, you might feel pretty down. Once you write down your goal, it will be something inspirational you can return to.

If you think this is a little “woo woo”, I promise it helps a lot of people. And I haven’t heard of anybody who it hindered.

So write down your goal and the email address you want to attach the project to.

How it works:

You can write as much as you want or as little as you want.

Some examples:

  • I want to earn rental income from my ADU

  • I want to have a separate house that my son could move into

  • I’d like to turn my garage into an extra room, and I can rent it or keep it for myself depending on my finances in the future

  • I want to build my own small house from start to finish

We’ll save this information for you to see later on when you need to make important decisions.

Then we’ll send you an email with two things:

  1. Your first free gift

  2. A step by step guide of all three ADU milestones and the intermediary steps between each of them

What if I change my mind?

You can always edit your goal if your situation changes. You just need to resubmit the form and we’ll update your goal.

This happens sometimes, and being thoughtful and intentional about shifting priorities is another key to a successful project.
