In our experience, having a real homeowner on the property to describe the process is a very valuable resource.
They have a relatable perspective on the whole process. They also know the all-in costs (not JUST construction), the time they invested in the project, and all the surprises along the way.
We also love to have a builder or designer/architect at each ADU on the tour because you can ask questions about how they worked on this real ADU project you're visiting.
It's normally a real hassle to interview multiple designers and builders, and try to get accommodations to see one of their finished projects. But this tour will get you over 10 ADUs all in one day.

This event is organized by Inspired ADUs and How To ADU. Inspired ADUs is a specialized architecture firm with dozens of ADUs completed in the Bay Area. How To ADU provides free educational videos and resources about ADUs. We are inviting all of our colleagues to this event so that you can see their work first-hand. This won't be an elaborate sales pitch for a single ADU company!
